McPherson Park is a handy neighborhood park on North Turquoise Drive with an enclosed, gated playground — nice when you want to relax while the kids play without worrying about them wandering off. There's a 24-hole disc golf course, basketball and tennis courts, horseshoe courts, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and a water fountain. It's right next to Jay Lively Ice Rink, so you can easily do both in one trip. Entrance is free from dawn to dusk, with parking and restrooms on site, and the park is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible. The play area is fenced. Shade is only partial, so a summer noon still wants a hat. Best for toddlers through tweens.
