Fort Tuthill Park is more than 400 acres of ponderosa pine forest with a lot to do and almost nothing to pay ($). Trails for hiking, space for camping, disc golf, a bike course, and picnic tables — and in winter it becomes a go-to sledding and cross-country skiing spot. It's also home to the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course and the North Pole Experience during the holidays. Parking, restrooms, and a water fountain are on site, dogs are welcome, and the park is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible from dawn to dusk. Shade is only partial under the pines. The honest split: the park itself is cheap, but the adventure course and holiday experience on the grounds are paid add-ons. A great all-seasons park that locals love, aimed at preschoolers through tweens.
