Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim)

About

National Park • Outdoor • Admission Required

About 80 miles / 1.5 hours from Flagstaff One of the world's great natural wonders, and more doable with kids than you'd think. The paved Rim Trail between Mather Point and Grand Canyon Village is flat and stroller-friendly, with jaw-dropping views every few hundred feet, and the free shuttle buses let you hop on and off when little legs give out. Kids ages 4–14 can grab a free Junior Ranger booklet at any visitor center and earn a badge. One important heads-up: many overlooks have no railings, so keep a firm hand on wanderers. Arrive early to beat the crowds and the midday heat.
