An award-winning museum on a 200-acre campus, and it's one of the best family-friendly stops in Flagstaff. Over five million artifacts tell the story of the Colorado Plateau — Native American cultures, geology, and regional history. Hands-on exhibits, activities, and workshops are a big hit with toddlers through tweens. Admission is required ($). Open daily 10am to 5pm, so give yourself a few hours and don't arrive near closing expecting a full visit. Restrooms and parking are on site, the galleries are stroller- and wheelchair-accessible, and there's a gift shop. Indoor galleries make it a great way to spend a few hours, especially on a day when the weather isn't cooperating.
