McMillan Mesa Park is the main trailhead into the 300-acre McMillan Mesa Natural Area, with direct access to the Arizona Trail, the Sego Lily FUTS Trail, and the Arrowhead FUTS Trail. The city replaced the old play structure with a new, inclusive playground built for a range of ages, and it's already a neighborhood favorite. It's also a good spot to stretch little legs on relatively flat, open grassland with views of the San Francisco Peaks and Mt. Elden — just note there's not much natural shade, so plan around the sun.
