A family-owned breakfast and lunch spot that's known for its generous portions. The biscuits and gravy are legendary, and the pancakes and chicken fried steak are solid too. They offer veteran discounts and free drinks for veterans — a nice touch. Two Flagstaff locations (East Route 66 and South Milton Road) make it an easy American diner stop, with a kids menu, high chairs, restrooms, and parking, plus wheelchair and stroller access. Quick-service, in the $ range, with moderate noise. Monday through Saturday they open at 5am and run until 8pm; Sunday is 6am to 3pm, so the weekend morning window is shorter. Portions run large and the room isn't quiet, which is the tradeoff for a no-nonsense diner that can actually feed a table of kids before a day out.
Local tip
Portions are honestly oversized — one order of biscuits and gravy or pancakes splits cleanly between two kids, so under-order on purpose.
