Wheeler Park

Wheeler Park

About

Playground • Outdoor • Free

Wheeler Park is a small but well-loved downtown park at West Aspen Avenue, right near City Hall and the library. There's a playground, a basketball court, picnic areas, a water fountain, and mature shade trees that make it a nice spot to cool down — shade coverage here is full. Entrance is free from dawn to dusk, with parking and restrooms on site, dogs welcome, and the park is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible. Best for toddlers through tweens. It hosts Art in the Park, Concerts in the Park, and Oktoberfest throughout the year, so it's worth checking what's happening when you're in town — those event days are when this small park fills up and the calm evaporates.

Local tip

Paw-picked by Scout

Downtown street parking is free for two hours through ParkFlag — plenty for the playground plus a browse at the public library right next door. On event weekends like Art in the Park or Oktoberfest, come on foot; every nearby space evaporates.
