Wupatki National Monument

About

National Monument • Outdoor • Admission Required

About 30 miles / 35 minutes north of Flagstaff Ancient pueblos built by farming communities over 800 years ago, set against a striking volcanic landscape. Self-guided trails take you to multiple pueblo sites, and the whole place is a great introduction to ancestral Puebloan culture. Admission is combined with Sunset Crater, so you can easily do both monuments in one day. A quiet, interesting stop that's often overlooked.
