Ancient cliff dwellings built by the Sinagua people around 1100–1250 AD. The Island Trail descends 185 feet past 276 steps to get you up close to 25 dwelling rooms — it's a workout, but the payoff is worth it. The Rim Trail offers accessible canyon views if you want something easier. Ranger-led programs are available too. A genuinely fascinating piece of history.
